About

Olimpia Cantillano is a Nicaraguan-American fine artist whose visionary digital work bridges the seen and unseen, blending spiritual experience with intricate, abstract design. Working exclusively in digital mediums, she creates highly detailed compositions that evoke a sense of depth, mystery, and remembrance. Her pieces often unfold in cool or warm monochromatic palettes, layered with hidden symbology rooted in personal story, ancestral memory, and the liminal space between the physical and spiritual realms.

Olimpia's work is deeply influenced by her experiences with plant medicine, her ongoing meditation practice, and her connection to her lineage and the land of Nicaragua — a country of volcanoes, lakes, and layered histories. Her themes often explore motherhood, femininity, identity, and spiritual rebirth. Animals, guides, and elements of nature appear as recurring symbols, inviting viewers to interpret the work through their own inner landscapes.

She began making art as a child, later earning a BFA from the Miami International University of Art & Design, where she discovered her innate affinity for digital media. Over the years, her practice has evolved from digital collage into abstract visionary work, especially as her spiritual life deepened. A pivotal turning point came after becoming a mother and stepping away from her art. That time of creative silence—though painful—awakened a powerful truth: that creating art is not optional for her. It is a vital, ancestral, and life-affirming act.

Today, Olimpia is reclaiming her path as an artist with renewed clarity and devotion. Her practice honors both her own journey and that of her ancestors. Through her art, she aims to serve as a vessel—a portal—where inner stories take shape and spirit becomes form.
